Supports Birdies for the Brave. His father and grandfather are both U.S. Navy veterans. His father, Bill, retired in 2010 after 20 years of service. His mother is a reading coach at an elementary school.
Earned three straight top six finishes on the PGA Tour in late March to early April this year with a T6 in the Players Championship, a T4 in the Valspar Championship, and a T6 in the Valero Texas Open.
Close friends with fellow Alabama alum Justin Thomas. The two were in each other's weddings, with Thomas serving as Cauley's best man.
His father, Bill, introduced him to the game, at age 5. Was homeschooled so he could practice golf during the day. His dad used to write "Be Humble, Bud" on the inside of Bud's baseball caps, a lesson he took to heart to never allow himself to take success for granted.
Bucket list includes scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
