Taylor's win in the 2023 RBC Canadian Open made him the first Canadian citizen to win their national open since 1954, and the first born in Canada to win it since 1914. In 2017, founded the Nick Taylor Charity Pro-Am presented by the University of the Fraser Valley in support of the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades Men's and Women's Golf programs, and local charity beneficiaries Holmberg House and Starfish Pack.
First golf memory was playing in Fiji for the Aaron Baddeley Championship.
Was selected to carry the Olympic Torch in advance of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Attended Yale Secondary School in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Inducted into the University of Washington Husky Hall of Fame in 2025.
Won the 2006 Canadian Junior Championship by a record 11 strokes. Was the 2007 Canadian Amateur champion. Was ranked No. 1 in the R&A's World Amateur Golf Ranking for 21 straight weeks (June-November 2009) and subsequently won the Mark H. McCormack Medal.
